Well by Me FAQs

Below are answers to my most common questions!

What is a health coach?

A health coach is an expert in health behavior changes. A health coach will provide real recommendations and strategies to help you on your wellness journey and provide that support to ensure that you are making progress towards your goals.

How do I know if Well By Me is right for me?

In general, I work with ambitious men and women who are motivated to improve their health. Typical goals include stress reduction, weight loss, healthy eating, time management, improved cooking skills, increased exercise, and self-care. Everyone is unique and has different goals!

This program is for you if:

  • You are committed to improving your health and happiness.
  • You are excited and ready to try new self-care techniques and embrace a healthier mroe confident you.
  • You choose to be the hero of your own story. You take responsibility and accountability for your success.
  • You desire to find a more centered and peaceful body and mind.
  • You are willing to make the time and investment for yourself.

How long do clients typically work with you?

It depends on what your goals are! Some people are looking for a short-term motivational program to get them off the couch and back into a healthy eating routine. For those individuals, I've developed my 30-Day Jumpstart Group Coaching Program.

Alternatively, other folks are more interested in behavior changes, and taking comfortable steps towards improving their health over time. The 6-month 1 on 1 Coaching Program allows us to work together on taking those steps and having personal coaching to troubleshoot things that are sure to come up over six months.

Is there evidence that health coaching actually works?

Yes. Research in this field is expanding and there have been various studies that show that health coaching has been instrumental in creating true and lasting change. It's all about behavior change and positive psychology. Check out this study to learn more about why coaching works.

Can I do this myself?

Yes, there are plenty of people who do it the Do-it-Yourself Approach (DIY). However many current clients who have tried this approach say they did great for 1-3 months (kind of like New Year’s Resolutions), but were unsuccessful in the long term 6-9+ months. Sometimes we need support to motivate us and help us get out of our own way! And there is nothing wrong with that!

Do you only work with clients in New York City?

Not at all! I work with clients from all over the U.S. I use video-conference software like Skype and FaceTime to conduct these virtual coaching sessions. My program is designed for those with busy schedules, little spare time, or those who travel a lot, so you will get the full benefits of a face-to-face health coach even if we speak remotely.

What are your credentials?

I received my 6-Month Certificate in Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which teaches over 100 dietary approaches, coaching techniques and training on exercise, relationships, career, and mindfulness. I worked at a career advice company called The Muse and have helped many people through career transitions. I am also a Relationship and Sex Educator at The V Club in New York City and coach people through relationship dynamics. I hold a B.A. from George Washington University in International Affairs.
