Runny noses, itchy red eyes, labored breathing bordering on asthma. With allergies, it's difficult to enjoy being outside in nature, one of the best things about the warm summer months, if you feel on the brink of death the whole time.
Today we’re going to look at 3 organic remedies to cure your allergy symptoms once and for all:
#1 Cut out the cheese + dairy. I know, cut out cheese? It’s impossible right? Cheese is life! When I cut out cheese, it was like cutting off a hand. But it’s been over a year now, and I rarely ever experience allergy symptoms. I used to take Zyrtec every day for seasonal allergies so this has been a game-changer for me. Why does cutting dairy out of your diet work? Most commercial dairy products that are pasteurized contain the protein beta-casein which your body tries to fight as an immunity. This exacerbates your current seasonal allergies, ugh! So maybe it’s time to join the cool kids and ditch dairy once and for all! This is only one of the benefits of doing so, which I’ll cover in a future article.
#2 Clean out those nostrils. If your primary symptom is nasal congestion, I highly encourage using a Neti-Pot as an organic solution for clearing your sinuses. It’s an ancient practice that is used successfully in Ayurvedic traditions and also commended by modern doctors as a form of sinus irrigation. Just make sure you are using distilled water and NOT tap water. Tap water is filled with chlorine and fluoride and can exacerbate your allergies. Not what we’re going for here!
#3 Eucalyptus is your friend. You may know the essential oil eucalyptus from your trip to the spa or as a flavor of body wash at your local high-end gym. I recommend buying this essential oil at a local natural market because you can use it for so many different purposes. For allergy treatment, I recommend adding 25 drops to a load of laundry along with your detergent because having it on your clothes will reduce inflammation and toxification of the harmful bacteria that causes allergies. You can also put a few drops in your Neti Pot to help with nasal congestion.
If you’ve been suffering with allergies and have hit your limit, I would be happy to guide you through a few of these self-care routines. Sign up for a 15-minute free consult and we can chat about how to get you to a better place and enjoy your outdoor life much more!
